abstract concepts: my definitions of kindness and self-control

kindness:
the unwillingness to deliberately cause harm, and the effort to avoid causing it accidentally.
self-control:
ability to say no to one's impulsive desires in favor of long-term desires and to manage one's own emotions.
i will try to figure out what these two mean to me...
kindness is ability that some people have, some don't, but it can be developed, so it is an ability to forgive and ability to forget one's own needs in favor of the other's needs. balance must be retained, otherwise it would be rather called altruism
self-control is something that i do not want to practice all the time :) it is a skill to identify impulses before a full blown behavioral response AND make a conscious decision of appropriate for the situation emotion and action.
Second one: something I have a lot of difficulties with *sigh* but I am working on improving it...
