Art Sharing #9: Jack Gescheidt's Treespirit Project (photography)

I discovered this nearly a year ago, I think from googling 'tree spirit' -- I'm awed and thrilled by this project. Nudes in nature are the epitome of beauty to me (especially when the nudes are various colors, ages, sexes, sizes and shapes), and wise old trees touch my heart in a way nothing else can. The trees he's found to photograph are... absolutely incredible. I hope to fly into San Francisco and be a part of a shoot either this year or next, to meet these trees if for nothing else.
I would love to create a project like this, with all color (he uses mostly black & white) and more of a variety in races, and a combination of the far-away and close-up shots. *sigh* one day...

The Ficus one, though, looks like it was done in a more public area? That must have been fun. The English Oak, that one guy hanging on the underside of the branch must have been saying hurry up with the picture already. There's a couple of them where I'm impressed with where the people are in the tree -- does he have a crane handy to put people in place?
I personally loved the Tea Time one and the Grandmother series, esp the Granddaughter and Grandmother Sky ones...
I love Bay Faerie.. and the In the Womb and Out of the Womb ones just blew my mind.. so many of them are so lovely
These photos are beautiful.
Just a quickie to say, i at times pop over to read your pages and see what you show because i find you a great inspiration and honest aswell as interesting. The only reason ive never asked to add is because i keep my livejournal friends as friends i know more inperson these days. My ailments dont let me keep up with a big friends list so well, so i pop over and read interesting people when i can. Hope that makes sense.
I didnt want to appear rude so thought id explain a bit.
I did infact mention yo just three days ago to a friend, saying you were an inspiration and beautiful soul and staggered me somewhat then after i said that you appeared on my page! lol. But now i figure it was maybe because youd seen id been on yours :-)
I have infact looked you up on and off for years, i think you use to have really long hair. But if you think it rude of me to read you at times without friending i understand and wont pop over now and then if you dont wish me to.
take care
lisa x
and wow, yeah it has been a long time since I had the long hair! ;-)
