Expect to find curse words, nudity, (occasionally explicit) talk of sex, and angry ranting, but NEVER slurs or sexually violent language. I use TW when I am aware of the need and on request.

As someone who works with many students with auditory processing disorders (honestly, it's probably the most common learning disability, at least in my experience), I found this very interesting and helpful. I think a lot of people confuse an auditory processing issue with a hearing issue.

Because of the prevalence in the population I work with, the emphasis on verbal instruction in classrooms, and the fact that many of our students have difficulty reading on top of it (so giving them written directions isn't any more helpful), I had initially hoped to do my master's thesis on auditory processing disorders, but we weren't allowed to get that specific (it had to be on one of the 13 criterias that meet eligibility for special education services), unfortunately.

I hope that my students can become as reflective about this some day (they're only 12 yeas old as it is) as you are; I fought with students all year about listening to music while working with the reading software (that focused heavily on helping them to distinguish the differences between phonemes), but despite their struggles, they would vehemently insist they could do both effectively.
